3 simple tips on how to find an amazing Realtor.

Updated: Mar 18, 2019

This blog is going to be pretty straight forward. I think the most important piece that ties back to all of this is communication. If you feel you can't communicate properly with your agent then you have a big problem. There are a lot of agents today that can't seem to answer the phone or give you a call back which is extremely frustrating, especially in this process of buying or selling. I mean c'mon! This is a big transaction in your life and you want the person handling that transaction to be as excited and invested as you are. So without further ado I give you my 5 best tips for hiring an agent!

1.) Set up an appointment to MEET them in person, whether it is at their office or a public space. This is key in finding out if you mesh well with their personality and how they communicate.

2.) Try to communicate with the potential Realtor via text, email and phone to see if they respond. When you have a question or concern the last thing you want to be doing is explaining that in a voicemail or text. Believe me, I have my phone on me at all times (my wife hates it, but she gets it) and you better believe that person most likely does too. If I am busy I always like to respond ASAP and let the person know I am tied up but will call them back in a certain amount of time. Some people just want that knowledge that, yes he will call me back in 30 minutes, I know I do.

3.) If you are listing your home and trying to find the perfect agent then this one is for you. Interview them! I am pretty sure everyone has been through some sort of interview so it is safe to say that you have an idea on what questions to ask. You are the boss in this situation, until the contract is signed then I believe it is a partnership but you have the majority shares :) There are three main points on why a property sells or doesn't, one is because of price. If the price is too high in the current market people are going to skip over it and go to the next available home for sale. Number two is condition, if the home needs repairs then again, it may be overlooked and passed on. There are few people that want to make this investment and have to work once they purchased it. Third and lastly, marketing. There are agents out there that put the property on the MLS and believe that all the buyers agents out there will do the work for them. Not me! I believe this is the most important point. Marketing can make or break a listing so make sure to ask your agent what they do to make sure they are going to get your home out in front of the masses!

I'd love to share my marketing strategy with you and show you how committed I am to your goals!
